Haircare should be an empowering and accessible experience for everyone, but we know for individuals with Developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities and their caregivers/ families, that is not always the case. The Kind Strands Clinic was created specifically to provide FREE sensory-friendly, inclusive haircuts and simple hairstyles to those individuals and their families. Every service is provided with patience, understanding, and care by professional volunteer hair stylists and barbers. Kind Strands Clinic was founded by people with lived experience & caring hearts wanting to make an impact within our community. 

The Kind Strands Clinic offers a welcoming, low sensory environment tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. Whether navigating sensory sensitivities or physical accommodations, our professional volunteer barbers and stylists are dedicated to delivering gentle, high-quality hair care while prioritizing comfort, inclusivity, and confidence.

The clinic serves children, youth, and individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities within our community. Our mission is to alleviate the stress, sensory issues, financial, and accessibility barriers often associated with hair grooming that non-disabled persons don't have to consider. We want to create a safe space where everyone feels seen, supported, celebrated, and most importantly, CONFIDENT
